Fright 2.0

We were intending a Halloween release of Fright 2.0 but every]thing has progressed far faster than we could have ever imagined! Halloween really starts in July right? We suspect a much earlier release. Before the end of the month? It is entirely possible! Stay tuned for teases as we get closer to release. In the meantime, if you're brave enough to step inside the adolescent mind that created Fright, follow the link below! For some this will be old hack, and if you still have a ditto copy we would love to hear about it. For others it will seem high schoolish, and it was very 80's too. Wait til you get a load of 2.0! See you soon my fettered friends!

Kindle-vella

So Amazon does this really cool thing I’ve only recently learned about. Yes, I am behind on some things. It's called Kindle-vella. Via the platform, authors can release a series of stories one at a time and make them available to Kindle readers for a small sum. I believe the first 3 stories are even free. They even have a special metric for paying the authors that involves thumbs up clicks and tokens you can purchase to use to be able to access them. So if you’re a Kindle user, look for my ongoing series called “What the Trope? Presents...” by J.P. Hunt. Even if you’re not a Kindle user, not only is there an app for that you can also view the stories via the web.

Thank you all for your support!

For Real This TIme!

Iiiiiiiiiii’m baaaaaack! Well actually I never left, but while I wasn’t away I re-re-edited and re-re-released all my old books and am currently working on producing new ones that will see the light of day I promise!

Here are some titles to look for in the near future...

Fright 2.0: A reinvention of my high school rag. A horror graphic novel, anthology hybrid with guest authors! Think what if “Tales from the Crypt” and “Masters of Horror" had a bastard child. Fright would be that bastard!

Undead Alive: A collection of tales from the zombie apocalypse with news articles and some ancient history!

Crows: A retelling of the story that can be found in Labyrinths of My Mind only more like a kids book with pictures and stuff.

Lyric Notebook: As mentioned, a complete collection of the song lyrics I have ever written with notes and anecdotes.

What the Trope? Presents...: A Kindle-vella series on Amazon. A series of stories in which well known horror movie tropes are humorously examined. Debut July 30th, 2023. New story every month.

I Hated the 80’s, but Got over It (An Autobiography): I was 90’s angst before there was such a thing and I got the stories to prove it.

Welcome Back

Welcome back
Your dreams were your ticket out
Welcome back
To that same old place that you laughed about
Well, the names have all changed
Since you hung around
But those dreams have remained
And they've turned around
Who'd have thought they'd lead you
(Who'd have thought they'd lead you)
Back here where we need you?
(Back here where we need you?)
-John Sebastian, Welcome Back, 1976

That's right, no more promising, I am back! Be sure to check this page often for updates on projects, random thoughts, complete stories and/or snippets, and so much more!

Let's just say that though the Creepercast may now be defunct I have been writing my own material like a mad man. Well, I already was a mad man, maybe a madder man?

By the way, the Creepercast blog does still exist if you want to travel back in time and read reviews, etc. But going forward I'm likely to slowly phase it out in favor of my pulpit hear. I will repost the best of the best here before then.  Meanwhile, let me remind you of where you can find via the links below. Yes, most of the content therein is pretty old, reinvented, or in much need of editing and re-release. But new stuff is on its way and this is the place to learn about it! For now...

Jesus Fish

Is it just me or does the Jesus Fish look suspiciously like the eye of Ra?

8 Years Later

Holy shit, has it really been 8 years since I wrote anything here? Looks like I wasn't really good at posting anything back when I did either. I see lots of promises for content regularity without any regular content. Yep, sounds like me. Always the procrastinator. And always missing out on opportunities to speak my mind. Well let's try again just because and see what happens. Maybe there will be more to follow coming soon.

Til next we bleed,

JP

Shadows: A Collection of Poetry and Stories Now Available

My third self published book is now available for your amusement! 'Shadows: A Collection of Poetry and Stories' is mostly made up of the mere shadows of greater haunts, creatures, and fears that are re-assembled into a larger, more menacing, manifestation. But mostly this book is just full of fun stories and situations that came spilling out of the labyrinth inside my head.

Here's an excerpt from 'Very Rare,' a fun farmers tale about a man and his cow...

So for a few days I tried my damndest to get the ole hag to leave the barn. I cussed and hollered; talked sweet, made promises; hell I even tried pushin her out of her stall and barely got out without gettin my head caved in! On that followin Thursday it was a nice dry, hot, sunshinin after noon and after a sixer, I decided that ole barn desperately needed a cleanin. So I grabbed me a pitchfork and set to pitchin hay out the door. Most the animals was out in the pasture lazin like they always do and Gertie was buried deep in a stall. This didn’t matter to me much, I had me a cooler full of bottles and all the doors flung wide open as I set about my work. Everyone knows its much easier to clean out a stinky barn with brews near by since the alcohol dulls the senses makin it so you don’t smell the manure much. After a few hours of forkin and tossin I was half naked, probably stinkin worse than a skunk sprayed dog, and there was only one stall left while the cooler was empty. Well of course you can bet that wasn’t settlin well with my mood but I was bound and determined to finish the job I had set out to doin. So I started to yellin and a coaxin at Gertie to get her ass out of that stall so I could clean it. I promised her a nice clean stall with plenty of straw to live in and even threw in a bale of alfalfa as a barterin tool. Damned if that ole bitch wouldn’t budge an inch. I was enterin into a most foul mood by then and wasn’t gonna let no damn cow get in my way of finishin my job before dark. Hell, I still had twenty some bales of straw to bust up!
I grabbed me one of them empty bottles I had lined up and heaved it at the wall behind her. It ricocheted off with a ping and bounced over her head. With God as my witness I swear that ole bitch growled at me!

You can purchase the book in hard copy right now from Create Space and available in both Paperback and Kindle via Amazon.com!

Thank you and hope you love it as much as loved putting it together!
Until next we bleed, for we will
J.P.
