Did you hear That?

An all new What the Trope is now available on Kindle-Vella! In this offering we poke fun at “the strange noise” that nobody takes seriously and someone will inevitably go investigate even though they’ve been warned. It is not to be confused with “I’ll be back” even though the two can be combined.

So Amazon does this really cool thing I’ve only recently learned about. Yes, I am behind on some things. It's called Kindle-vella. Via the platform, authors can release a series of stories one at a time and make them available to Kindle readers for a small sum. I believe the first 3 stories are even free. They even have a special metric for paying the authors that involves thumbs up clicks and tokens you can purchase to use to be able to access them. So if you’re a Kindle user, look for my ongoing series called “What the Trope? Presents...” by J.P. Hunt. Even if you’re not a Kindle user, not only is there an app for that you can also view the stories via the web.

Thank you all for your support!

Shadows re re re

This is rather surreal. I just got the hardcover version today. As I’ve mentioned before I’ve re re re edited all my previous releases. The complete collection covers everything important from high school through college. Shadows here is the most recent (2013). It is kind of mind blowing to see it like this. My eyes don’t recognize it as something I wrote and want to read it like I don’t know what’s in it lol.

In other news, Fright 2.0 is ready for final editing, formatting, and proofing. Which means we’re pretty close to publishing. Will tease more as we get closer.

Fright 2.0

We were intending a Halloween release of Fright 2.0 but every]thing has progressed far faster than we could have ever imagined! Halloween really starts in July right? We suspect a much earlier release. Before the end of the month? It is entirely possible! Stay tuned for teases as we get closer to release. In the meantime, if you're brave enough to step inside the adolescent mind that created Fright, follow the link below! For some this will be old hack, and if you still have a ditto copy we would love to hear about it. For others it will seem high schoolish, and it was very 80's too. Wait til you get a load of 2.0! See you soon my fettered friends!

For Real This TIme!

Iiiiiiiiiii’m baaaaaack! Well actually I never left, but while I wasn’t away I re-re-edited and re-re-released all my old books and am currently working on producing new ones that will see the light of day I promise!

Here are some titles to look for in the near future...

Fright 2.0: A reinvention of my high school rag. A horror graphic novel, anthology hybrid with guest authors! Think what if “Tales from the Crypt” and “Masters of Horror" had a bastard child. Fright would be that bastard!

Undead Alive: A collection of tales from the zombie apocalypse with news articles and some ancient history!

Crows: A retelling of the story that can be found in Labyrinths of My Mind only more like a kids book with pictures and stuff.

Lyric Notebook: As mentioned, a complete collection of the song lyrics I have ever written with notes and anecdotes.

What the Trope? Presents...: A Kindle-vella series on Amazon. A series of stories in which well known horror movie tropes are humorously examined. Debut July 30th, 2023. New story every month.

I Hated the 80’s, but Got over It (An Autobiography): I was 90’s angst before there was such a thing and I got the stories to prove it.

Welcome Back

Welcome back
Your dreams were your ticket out
Welcome back
To that same old place that you laughed about
Well, the names have all changed
Since you hung around
But those dreams have remained
And they've turned around
Who'd have thought they'd lead you
(Who'd have thought they'd lead you)
Back here where we need you?
(Back here where we need you?)
-John Sebastian, Welcome Back, 1976

That's right, no more promising, I am back! Be sure to check this page often for updates on projects, random thoughts, complete stories and/or snippets, and so much more!

Let's just say that though the Creepercast may now be defunct I have been writing my own material like a mad man. Well, I already was a mad man, maybe a madder man?

By the way, the Creepercast blog does still exist if you want to travel back in time and read reviews, etc. But going forward I'm likely to slowly phase it out in favor of my pulpit hear. I will repost the best of the best here before then.  Meanwhile, let me remind you of where you can find via the links below. Yes, most of the content therein is pretty old, reinvented, or in much need of editing and re-release. But new stuff is on its way and this is the place to learn about it! For now...
